Fancy seeing you here, it's been a while!!

I apologise profusely for the lack of posts in the past few months. I dont really have an excuse other than having to work over 40 hours a week, and not really getting much time to myself! Anyway I really want to get back into the swing of things, and start posting more often, so here goes!!

Superdrug Haul!

So i had to go into town, to pay the deposit for our new flat, and decided to pop into Superdrug, as i had a bit of time to spare time before my bus.

While i was in there i had a little mooch around, and spied a few bits i thought looked quite good, and fancied trying out!

I had read somewhere that the St Ives Apricot Scrub was on buy one get one free, and as i had never tried it before i thought i'd give it a go. I like to keep my face all soft and smooth, especially in the summer, as it makes me feel more refreshed, and i think makes my tan stay longer, if my skin is in good condition. I got the Blemish Fighting, and the Invigorating ones. I quite like the smell of these, but i was kind of expecting them to smell of apricot, and have to say was a little disappointed. The Invigorating smells like Almonds/Marzipan (which i have to say i don't really like!) and the Blemish Fighting smells a bit flowery, but if they do the job, i am willing to overlook the scents. Will do a review in a couple of weeks, once i have given them time to work their magic!!

I picked up a Batiste Dry shampoo, as have heard great things about these, and HATE second day hair!! Having not tried these, i wasnt sure what to expect, or how to use them, but i had a quick look on youtube, and managed to find plenty of people explaining how to achieve good looks with them!

I had to obviously add to my Nail varnish obsession, so i bought 3 new BarryM nail paints in the colours:
292 - Navy,
293 - Grey
304 - Mint Green.
I have been coveting the Navy for months and months since my little sister bought one, and I saw how nice it looked on! I have a thing at the moment for grey/silver colours, and this one is really nice, also it looks good with a tan! And i had to get the green to finish off my ice-cream colour collection!

I had nearly run out of my Dove Summer Glow body lotion, this is a staple of mine all year round, i even use the body one on my face as i feel it gives me a really nice glowing colour, which no facial tanning moisturizer has done for me so far. Plus it was 1/2 price, so was a bargain!!

A few weeks ago i purchased one of the Beautyuk eyeshadow palettes, and was very impressed at the pigmentation for the price, so i grabbed a couple more today. I got the Bright Palette and the Natural Palette. The Bright one will be perfect for a friends Hen do that i am going to next weekend, the theme is 80's and fluorescent so this will be perfect!! And the Neutral one will be good for work, as we have to wear subtle makeup.

The last thing i bought was from the Superdrug 2true range, and its the Blush Pink tinted stain for lips and cheeks. I have wanted to buy Benefit's Posietint for a long time, but could never justify spending that much on something i might not like or even use, so i am glad i found a cheaper version of it. At just £1.50 this seems perfect, when applied to the cheeks it gives a nice flushed look, but can be applied to the lips for a more striking colour.

All in all I am very happy with my purchases!! Sorry it was a bit of a long post!! But hope you enjoyed reading it.

Glamour and Benefit

I luckily managed to get my hand on the three copies of Glamour Magazine, that had the Benefit goodies free with it. It took me 4 different shops to find all three!!

The 'Bad Gal' Eyeliner has a nice formulation, but when applied to the water line, doesn't look as black as some less expensive eyeliners, although i cant complain, as i only paid £2 for it!! I don't think i will repurchase this pencil, but as i didn't pay full price for it, i don't mind!

I am absolutely LOVING the 'Bright Eyes' pencil! The formulation is really smooth, and blends easily. I have never tried a product like that before, but I like what it does, and the effect it gives when on my eyes. This one will be a definite repurchase once i have finished it!!

I am quite lucky that my skin tone is similar enough to the 'It Stick' for me to be able to use it. This is a plus because i needed a new concealer, so it saved me looking for one! I love how smoothly it goes onto my skin, and  blends really well. This may be repurchased in the future, but I'm not 100% certain!

Swatches of the three pencils:

On another Benefit note I REALLY REALLY need a new Hoola, mine is completely DEAD :( it sucks, as I cant afford one currently, and as we are moving at the end of the month, I don't think I will be able to get one for a while :( it is pretty much my only staple makeup product (excluding mascara, which I cant live without!!) I love to look nice and bronzed, and hate looking pasty!!

That's all for now, I am planning a few new posts within the next few weeks, depending on how busy I get with packing!

It's my Birthday in less than a week!!

Hi!

I am sooooooooooo excited!! I am going to be 22 in less than a week. Birthdays are one of my favourite times of the year! I love being spoilt!!

It's weird though, living away from home, i wont be able to see my friends, who i have for the last few years, but my mum and sister are coming to visit me which will be nice, as we are planning on going shopping :) And i get paid 3 days before too, so I can spend spend spend!!

I am thinking about buying a Nars bronzer, currently i have the Benefit Hoola, but i have totally hit pan, and really need to replace it, but i am not sure how the Nars compares...

I am also going to treat myself to a Sleek Palette, not sure which one yet, depends what they have in the Superdrug near me!!

I will do a haul when i have got it all!!

Nail Varnish Collection...so far!!

Hi!

This is my first blog post!!

I have to confess that I am obsessed with nail varnishes. This is a bit of a shame, as I am not allowed to wear any fancy colours to work (although it doesn't stop me from buying them!!!)

Anyway... i haven't got that big a collection, yet, but i am hoping to acquire some more soon!!

I really like the BarryM nail paints, and try to buy at least one a month, i currently have 10 of them, and am just waiting until payday to get more!! I also have a few from the new MUA range at Superdrug, and a couple from 17 at Boots.

I think the BarryM are my favourite, because they are a nice smooth formula, and easy to paint onto my nails, even though a few of the colours stain my nails quite badly, even with a base coat on! The brush could be improved, and made a little wider, like other brands, but the pigmentation of them is good.

The colours i have are...

From left to right:
Limited Edition Pink, Burgundy, Bright Red, Red Glitter, Cobalt Blue, Blue Glitter, Lemon Ice Cream, Strawberry Ice Cream, Blueberry Ice Cream, Crystal Clear.

From the MUA range at Superdrug I have:

Left to right:
Shades 18, 11, 1, 10, 3, 17

These are the 3 i got from 17 at Boots. they are called Knockout Red, Toasted Almond, Moonstruck. I really like the formula of these, and the brush is nice and wide, so only needs one stroke to apply. I think I might be buying more of these!! At only £2.99 each, they are pretty reasonable.

I will swatch everything at a later date, as already have my nails painted at the moment!

This is how I store them:

I have a little mini chest of drawers, which they fit nicely into!

Thats all from me for now, hope i didnt ramble too much! First post and all!!

Thanks for reading!
